The Sandugo sa Bohol commemorates the blood compact between Datu Sikatuna and Miguel Lopez de Legazpi in 1565, symbolizing the first treaty of friendship between Filipinos and Spaniards.
This historical event, known as ‘Sandugo’ or ‘one blood,’ has evolved into a vibrant celebration showcasing Bohol’s rich cultural heritage, artistic talents, and the warm hospitality of Boholanos.
Every July, the month-long festivities bring together locals and tourists to witness colorful street dances, beauty pageants, cultural shows, and other exciting activities that highlight Bohol’s traditions and progress.
