Bohol joins PHIDEX 2024
DIVE7 DOT Central Visayas actively participated in PHIDEX 2024, the Philippines’ premier diving exposition held at the World Trade Center Manila from February 23–25, 2024. Themed ‘Heart of Asia’s Diving: Collaboration for the Ocean Community,’ PHIDEX 2024 aimed to solidify the Philippines’ position as a premier dive destination within the Coral Triangle, a global hotspot for marine biodiversity.
Since its inception in 2019, PHIDEX has established itself as the nation’s leading platform for the diving community. This inclusive gathering brings together industry experts, stakeholders, and passionate enthusiasts, fostering a collaborative environment for innovative ideas, sustainable solutions, and economic opportunities.
Additionally, DOT7 was joined by renowned diving industry stakeholders from the region, including Atlantis Dive Resorts & Liveaboards, Valm Divers, Bohol Beach Club (Club Aquasports), Kasai Village Dive Resort, Dive Society Dauin, Silver Reef Dive Resort, Atmosphere Resorts & Spa, Sea Explorers Philippines, Kokay’s Maldito Dive Resort, Blue Revival Diving College, Bongo Bongo Divers, Thresher Shark Divers, Salum Resort, and Bahura Dive Siquijor. Local government units from the Province of Siquijor, Province of Bohol, Municipality of Panglao, Municipality of Dimiao, Municipalities of Moalboal, Badian, and San Francisco, Camotes of the Province of Cebu also actively participated.
The DIVE7 program of DOT7 has demonstrably achieved success in engaging a diverse range of stakeholders in diving tourism, including enthusiasts, industry providers, businesses, governments, regulatory bodies, and local communities. This inclusive approach has generated a ripple effect, drawing stakeholders into a collaborative network that strengthens the program’s reach and impact.
Notably, the program’s commitment to marine conservation was recognized in 2022 when it ranked 6th in the Wanderlust Sustainability Initiative Category by the UK-based magazine Wanderlust.
